Wichita motorcyclist arrested in Nebraska after reportedly waving shotgun at vehicle
A 25-year-old Wichita man on a motorcycle was arrested in Nebraska after a “road rage” incident where he reportedly pulled a shotgun out of a saddlebag and waved it at another vehicle, the Nebraska Highway Patrol said.
He was arrested around 9:45 a.m. on Friday after a trooper spotted him speeding on Highway 2 in Custer County, Nebraska. That was about 15 minutes after the report with the gun on the same highway, but in Buffalo County, which is a county over.
He was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a short shotgun.
“The trooper performed a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the trooper located the shotgun in the motorcycle saddlebag,” the NHP said, adding the original report was that a “motorcycle rider was driving in a reckless manner and had threatened another vehicle with a shotgun. The rider had reportedly pulled the shotgun out of a motorcycle saddlebag and waived it in a threatening manner at another vehicle.”
The Custer County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday said the suspect was taken back to Buffalo County. The sheriff’s office there did not immediately respond Wednesday afternoon about if he was still booked in its jail.
