Brother killed, other injured after fighting at north Wichita home, police say
One brother was killed and another injured after the two got into a fight Thursday night in north Wichita, police said.
Randy Patterson was taken to the hospital where he died from his stab wounds. He was 60.
The 58-year-old surviving brother was also taken to the hospital in serious condition before being released and questioned by police. Police then released him, but will present the case to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office, which will determine if a crime occurred.
Police were called at 10:53 p.m. about a cutting in the 2000 block of North Spruce, 21st and Grove. They found the 58-year-old injured in the front yard, police spokesperson Rick Pena said.
“When officers went inside, they found 60-year-old Randy Patterson in the living room with multiple stab wounds,” Pena said in a news release, adding that he was taken to the hospital where he died at 11:24 p.m.
