Man attacks police with 6-inch shard of glass

A man attacked police with a piece of glass before being subdued Friday morning.

Wichita police Sgt. Brian Sigman said an officer responded to a burglary in progress in the 2500 block of North Shelton, near 25th and Arkansas, shortly after 10 a.m. Friday.

Officers confronted a man, who threatened them with a 6-inch piece of glass. Police fired a Taser, which subdued the man.

Officers were not hurt. The suspect was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis for evaluation.
