Wichita police arrest 16-year-old in connection with one of three Labor Day homicides

Wichita police arrested a teenage boy Tuesday on suspicion of felony murder tied to a shooting in north Wichita that killed 20-year-old Sebastian Williams and wounded another 20-year-old, according to a news release from the Wichita Police Department.

Police continue to search for a second person in the shooting near 21st and Arkansas, the release said.

Police did not identify the 16-year-old who was arrested or explain his alleged role in the shooting. He was booked into the Sedgwick County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center on suspicion of felony murder.

The unidentified 20-year-old who was injured in the shooting remains hospitalized. Police said in the news release that detectives are still working to determine what led to the shooting.

The North Arkansas shooting was one of three fatal shootings on Labor Day.
