Woman dies, another injured in stabbing in west Wichita

A 28-year-old woman died and another was injured in a stabbing Thursday in west Wichita.

The victim’s name was not given. Police took a man into custody, Wichita police spokesperson Andrew Ford said.

Police were called to a domestic disturbance at 2:34 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 6800 block of Par Lane. They found a woman outside with stab and cut wounds. She was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers entered an apartment and found the 28-year-old woman with stab wounds. She was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead at 4:14 p.m., Ford said.

A man in the apartment was taken into custody by police. Ford did not disclose the relationship between the man and two women or the cause behind the stabbing.
