Police identify man killed in weekend hit-and-run crash in west Wichita

Police identified the victim of a hit-and-run crash Saturday as 41-year-old Cary Lee South of Wichita.

Officers were called at 12:46 a.m. to a crash at Kellogg and Tyler. They found South lying on the eastbound on-ramp to Kellogg from Tyler, Wichita police spokesperson Brad Wright said.

South had serious head injuries and died at the scene. Wright said he was crossing Kellogg Drive on foot when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call detectives at 316-350-3672 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
