Police seeking four suspects in fatal shooting of man in west Wichita Sunday

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon in west Wichita, police said.

The victim, who is from Wichita, has not identified.

Police were called at 2:26 p.m. to a shooting in the 2700 block of W. 2nd Street. Officers found the victim lying on the ground with a gunshot wound, Wichita police spokesman Kristopher Gupilan said.

The man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, Gupilan added.

Detectives learned that a disturbance occurred between the victim and four other men before the shooting. The four suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

The cause of the disturbance behind the shooting is unclear. Police are interviewing people and looking for the suspects.
