Police siren

A 48-year-old man was shot after an argument with another man Wednesday in south Wichita.

Police were called to a shooting at 6:42 a.m. at the Sonic Drive-In at 4747 S. Seneca. They found the man who had been shot in the leg, Wichita police spokesperson Andrew Ford said.

The man told police he had been shot by a 50-year-old man, Ford added.

The victim said he initially confronted the other man at Kwik Shop. That man then got in his vehicle and drove to the 4600 block of S. Seneca. The victim followed him and exchanged more words.

The suspect pulled a handgun and shot the man in the leg, according to Ford.

A suspect was booked into Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Police did not say what the argument was over.

Both men are from Wichita and know each other. Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to call WPD detectives at 316-268-4407.
