He was on the roof of a car, trying to get in the driver’s door — and he was naked.

The 17-year-old was spotted by an Eisenhower National Airport police officer at about 9:50 p.m. Monday at Tyler Road and Kellogg Drive, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. A 25-year-old woman and her 5-year-old daughter were inside the car at the time.

Several motorists called 911 to report the teen, Espinoza said Wednesday. He flagged down the woman, jumped on the roof and yelled at her to drive. She refused, so he opened the car door and tried to pull her out, Espinoza said.

The teen was booked into the juvenile detention facility on suspicion of aggravated robbery, child endangerment and resisting arrest, Espinoza said.

Police think the teen may have been under the influence of some kind of substance; they are awaiting results of blood tests.
