A 35-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with an incident earlier this year in which she accused a man of raping her, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a possible rape in the 1800 block of South St. Paul on May 20, Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s near Harry and Meridian. When they arrived, they found the woman’s 31-year-old boyfriend in the backyard with multiple stab wounds.
The investigation continued “over several months,” Espinoza said.
The woman was interviewed at length on Wednesday and then booked into jail on one count of attempted first-degree murder, he said. The victim has improved sufficiently to be released from the hospital.
