A 31-year-old Sedgwick County man was arrested Wednesday by federal and local officers on suspicion of first-degree murder in a 2021 killing, Wichita police Capt. Aaron Moses said.

Abraham Galvan died on June 3, 2021, after being shot on March 29, 2021. The 21-year-old had been in the back seat of a vehicle, headed home from a wedding, when he was shot. Police said the shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. near 19th and Jackson, which is in north Wichita. Police were called about a report of a walk-in shooting victim at a hospital.

“In early 2025, new information emerged, leading investigators to identify a potential suspect,” Moses said in a news release titled “cold case homicide arrest.”

He said Wichita officers, with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Office “peacefully arrested the suspect.” The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office will determine what charges the man faces.
