Wichita man fatally shot in his truck before crashing into Haysville home identified
A 19-year-old Wichita man who died Friday after being shot — and whose truck crashed into a tree and home in Haysville — has been identified.
Brian Alexander Morales Sanchez died at the scene, Haysville police Chief Jeff Whitfield said Monday.
Police were called about a building collapse just after midnight in the 6500 block of A Street, which is in the northeast part of the city.
Police previously said Sanchez was shot in his 2002 Dodge pickup moments before he sped off and crashed into a tree and then a Haysville home.
A Haysville girl who was found on the same street where police found “multiple firearm shell casings” had minor injuries but those were not related to the shooting, Whitfield said. She was taken to the hospital.
“At this time the relationship between the driver of the vehicle and the juvenile female is unknown,” Whitfield said, adding that they are following up on leads and “conducting search warrants.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Haysville police at 316-529-5912 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Callers can remain anonymous with Crime Stoppers.
