Sterling silver, jewelry with estimated value of $27,000 taken in Wichita burglary
A burglary of a home Friday night in northeast Wichita netted burglars an estimated $27,000 in jewelry and other goods, police say.
Wichita police Sgt. Ron Hunt said police were dispatched to a report of a burglary at about 11 p.m. Friday in the 9500 block of East Shannon Woods, near Webb Road and 29th Street.
A 12-piece sterling silver place set with the letter F engraved on the handles was taken, which the victim valued at $15,000. Also taken was more than $12,000 in jewelry, Hunt said.
Hunt said police think the suspect entered the house either through an unlocked front door or an unlocked back door.
