Wichita softball coach arrested, accused of sexually assaulting former player, police say
Wichita police have arrested a 31-year-old Wichita woman in connection with alleged sex crimes involving a teen girl.
The woman, who is a softball coach, was arrested Friday on suspicion of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, criminal sodomy and unlawful sexual relations, Sedgwick County Jail booking logs show.
The investigation began Jan. 29 when the 18-year-old told police that she had been sexually assaulted by her former softball coach between 2021 and 2024, before she reached the age of consent, Wichita police spokesperson Brad Wright said in an email.
