A 31-year-old Wichita woman was arrested Monday on a Florida beach after being accused of shooting her husband.

The woman was booked into the Escambia County Jail shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of attempted homicide, jail records show. The Eagle is not identifying her because she has not been charged.

Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance call at 10:30 p.m. Monday at the Fairfield Inn in Pensacola Beach, sheriff’s public information officer Morgan Lewis said.

Deputies found the woman’s husband suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, Lewis added.

The couple were on vacation.

“There was a disturbance that led to [the suspect] shooting her husband” Lewis said.

The woman remains in jail without bond, records show.
