Police investigate iPad burglary at Best Buy
Wichita police are investigating a burglary at the Best Buy store in the 6700 block of W. Kellogg.
The burglary happened at about 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to Lt. James Espinoza, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.
Espinoza said Thursday morning during a media briefing that the person or persons who burglarized the business took 14 iPads valued at over $22,000.
“At this time, we have no suspect information,” Espinoza said. “Police are investigating the robbery for possible connections to other robberies.”
Nearly two weeks ago, the Best Buy store suffered a similar robbery. A burglar broke in and stole 11 MacBooks worth more than $15,000.
“We are looking to see if entry in the business is the same and trying to identify individuals and their criminal histories that might have done this in the past,” Espinoza said. “There are several ways to investigate through social media and dozens of sale sites on the Internet.”
Investigators ask that people who have information on the burglaries call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
