Wichita attorney charged with evading more than $1 million in taxes
A Wichita attorney has been indicted by a federal grand jury for evading more than $1 million in taxes.
Eldon L. Boisseau, 66, is charged with one count of tax evasion, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said in a news release.
The indictment, which was handed down Wednesday, alleges Boisseau owes a federal tax liability totaling $1.02 million, including penalties and interest.
The amount is for income tax allegedly owed for years 1998-2000, 2002-05 and 2007-08, as well nearly $135,000 in employment taxes that he allegedly failed to hand over to the Internal Revenue Service, according to a court document.
Boisseau allegedly evaded paying taxes by concealing assets and sources of income, the release said. He began practicing law in Wichita in 1973, according to a story in The Eagle in 2012.
