Man goes to south Wichita gas station after being shot in neck
One person was critically injured Thursday morning in a south Wichita shooting, an official said.
Police detained multiple people after they responded to a shooting at 7:03 a.m. in the 2100 block of South Broadway, which is near Clark, according to a Sedgwick County Emergency Communications supervisor.
“A male came in (to D C Gas Station) advising he had been shot,” according to emergency communications scanner traffic, adding he had been shot in the neck. “We don’t have anything further on it.”
The man, believed to be in his 30s, arrived at the gas station on foot, according to emergency communications.
Police spokesperson Andrew Ford said Thursday afternoon that the man asked the business to call 911. EMS then took him to the hospital.
“This is still an active investigation,” Ford said. “I have no further information at this time.”
