Burglars use U-Haul in break-in, theft at east Wichita dealership

Multiple people broke out a window and used a U-Haul van to steal two dirt bikes from an east Wichita dealership, according to a police report released Tuesday morning.

The burglary at Jay Hatfield Honda Powerhouse of Wichita, at Kellogg and Greenwich, was reported 3:43 a.m. Sunday. Video showed multiple people break into the business and steal the dirt bikes. Police said the dirt bikes have a value of $14,000 and damage to the building is estimated at $12,000.

A manager at the dealership, who would not give his name, said “we fight it regularly” when asked if it’s happened before. He said arrests hadn’t been made in the past.
