Police arrest 15-year-old in southwest Wichita shooting that injured another 15-year-old
Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting in southwest Wichita that seriously injured another 15-year-old on Sunday.
According to a WPD news release, officers were dispatched to a shooting call in the 3000 block of South Everett around 9:10 p.m.
“Upon arrival, officers located the 15-year-old victim with two gunshot wounds to his abdominal area. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with critical but non-life-threatening injuries,” the release said..
The victim underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that during the commission of a crime, the suspect shot the victim. Detectives are still working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting fully,” the release said.
