Wichitan pleads guilty to embezzling from McConnell AFB
A Wichita woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to embezzling more than $54,000 while she worked as a civilian at McConnell Air Force Base.
Deidra N. Sanders, 44, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of theft of government money, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said in a news release.
As a deputy dispersing officer for the Air Force at the Wichita base, Sanders had access to the defense finance and accounting service fund, the release said. In her plea, she admitted that between March 2013 and April 2014 she stole $54,348 from the fund, the release added.
She is set for sentencing on Jan. 6.
