Police arrest another man in connection with City Nightz shooting that injured 11

Wichita police have arrested another man in connection with the July 2 City Nightz shooting that left nine people wounded and two more with injuries from being trampled.

John Houze, 27, was arrested on one count of aggravated battery and another of criminal possession of a firearm by a felon. He also had a Kansas Department of Corrections warrant, police spokesperson Juan Rebolledo said.

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Houze was previously convicted of drug possession and fleeing from law enforcement, both misdemeanors, and aggravated battery and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon.

It i s unknown when and where Houze was arrested. Police were not immediately available for more details.

Police said on Friday that they had arrested 19-year-old Ameir Jayshon King-Ingram on suspicion of two counts of aggravated battery and one count of criminal possession of a firearm by a felon. He was arrested in the 700 block of South Greenwood, The Eagle previously reported.

Police also are asking the public for help in finding 23-year-old Jaylen Thomas of Wichita in connection with the shooting, Rebolledo said.

“Thomas has a felony pick-up stemming from the City Nightz shooting,” Rebolledo added. “Police would like to speak with Thomas and check his welfare.”

A man who was working security for rapper Mozzy was earlier arrested and released. Sedgwick County District Attorney Marc Bennett said that man fired in self-defense or defense of someone else.
