Wichita man arrested on suspicion of murder, aggravated endangering of child, records show

A 51-year-old Wichita man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree murder in the commission of a felony and multiple other charges from a May 8 incident, records show.

Thomas Ross Gatewood was arrested on suspicion of 11 charges, including aggravated endangering of a child, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated intimidation of a victim or witness and abuse of a child.

The charges are in connection with an incident reported just before 7 p.m. May 8. It happened in the 600 block of North Oliver, where Gatewood lives. He was arrested in the 400 block of North Oliver, records show.

Police have offered few details about what happened: During a fight, the victim fell. The victim was pronounced dead at 7:36 p.m.
