Shots ring out, hitting sleeping man and apartments in north Wichita, police say
A 35-year-old Wichita man was nestled in his bed in a north Wichita apartment when shots rang out, hitting his leg and parts of a few other apartments.
The man was taken to the hospital and then released.
Police were called around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday to the apartments in the 1500 block of East 17th. There is an apartment complex right next to a church in that block.
“The investigation revealed that several rounds were fired at the apartment complex striking a few apartments,” Wichita police spokesperson Chad Ditch said. “The victim was struck while sleeping in his bed.”
