Wichita police arrest teen, seek others after shooting that hit four houses, vehicles
A 16-year-old Wichita boy has been arrested, and police are looking for two other people after a shooting that left four vehicles and four occupied homes riddled with bullets, Wichita police said Wednesday.
It’s believed more than 20 shots were fired, police said.
The shooting, which happened near 12th Street and Green, was reported to police at about 5:13 p.m. on Feb. 3. When police arrived, they found blood, bullet cartridges, and the damaged houses and vehicles.
Police think the blood is from a 19-year-old man, who is still being sought in the case, according to Wichita police spokesperson Juan Rebolledo. Another 16-year-old boy is also being sought. Police are still trying to investigate what caused the shooting.
“Involved parties are uncooperative,” Rebolledo said in an email.
The 16-year-old was arrested Tuesday in the 400 block of North Main, which is near Third Street. He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property between $1,000 and $25,000, willful criminal damage to property and criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied dwelling, records show.
