There were no trophies to present at a baseball tournament held this weekend in south Wichita.

They’d been stolen early Saturday morning from the concessions building at the Southwest Boys Club, 2104 W. 45th St. South, Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s just east of Meridian.

The suspects — security video indicates there were two — stole candy, money, trophies and umpire safety equipment. The loss was estimated at $3,500, Espinoza said.

“It’s disheartening,” he said of the crime. “What’s unfortunate is that these young men didn’t receive their trophies this weekend.”

The Wichita Police Department posted photos of two suspects on its Facebook page Monday afternoon.
