Child cut after making crude gesture, police say

A man cut a 12-year-old child with a knife after the boy made a sexual gesture at the man’s girlfriend, Wichita police said.

The child suffered superficial cuts and the man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery, said Lt. Joe Schroeder.

The attack occurred at about 5:30 p.m. in the 3600 block of West 13th Street, he said.
