KBI investigating after family member finds Allen County man dead at his home

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of an Allen County man that the agency says is a homicide, according to a KBI news release.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a family member who found the body of Richard Diehl, 68, of La Harpe, around 9:55 a.m. on Tuesday. Deputies arrived at Diehl’s home and found his body inside of the shop on his property, the release says.

The sheriff’s office requested help from the KBI on Wednesday.

Preliminary autopsy results indicate Diehl’s death was a homicide, KBI spokesperson Melissa Underwood said.
