Deputies arrest man accused of shooting, injuring brother at south Wichita home

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man accused of shooting his brother at a south Wichita home.

Phoukhong Khamvongsa, 62, of Wichita, was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of one count of aggravated battery, sheriff’s spokesman Ben Blick said.

Deputies responded to a call around 5:23 p.m. Monday in the 4500 block of south Meadowview. Deputies found a 55-year-old man, who Blick says is Khamvongsa’s brother, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Blick said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Blick said both men live at the house on Meadowview.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives collect evidence and conduct interviews.
