Man shot by deputies in Butler County, taken to Wichita hospital, KBI says

One man was shot and injured by Butler County deputies trying to serve an arrest warrant in Leon on Thursday afternoon, KBI spokesperson Melissa Underwood said in an email.

The shooting happened around 2:20 p.m. outside the post office and bank in Leon, according to Underwood.

The injured man was taken to a hospital in Wichita and is “currently in critical condition,” Underwood said in the email.

No law enforcement officers were injured, according to the email.

Underwood added that more details would be shared after further investigation.
