Former Montgomery County official charged with wire and bank fraud

The former director of the Montgomery County Conservation District was charged Monday with one count of wire fraud and one count of bank fraud, according to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom.

Danielle R. Passaur, 29, of Neodesha, is suspected of authorizing more than $27,600 in checks to be paid to her salary as well as $23,694 in an electronic transfer to Visa to pay for personal, unauthorized expenditures, according to a news release issued Monday by Grissom’s office.

If convicted, Passaur faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison and a fine up to $1 million on each count.
