Police: Man fires shot after argument with girlfriend

A man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly fired a shot at one of his girlfriends after an argument, police said.

The altercation unfolded shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of East MacArthur, near Hydraulic, Lt. James Espinoza said. A 19-year-old woman told police that while she was visiting her 18-year-old boyfriend they got into an argument.

As she got into a car with two 18-year-old women and a 3-month-old girl, she told police, he fired a shot. They left the scene unharmed and contacted police.

The suspect was found in the 2100 block of South Minneapolis at “his other girlfriend’s residence,” Espinoza said.

That’s near K-15 and Mount Vernon. He was arrested and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of several offenses, including aggravated battery for reportedly firing the gun.
