Man robs Dollar General store on East 13th

A robber with a handgun took money and cigarettes from the Dollar General store in the 1900 block of East 13th Street, police said Tuesday.

The robbery occurred about 8:30 Monday night, Lt. Randy Reynolds said.

The robber put the stolen items in a backpack. He was described as a black man, 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds and wearing a black T-shirt and gray jeans.
