Wichita police responded to a shooting call in the 300 block of West 10th Street, near 10th and Waco, at around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, and when they arrived, they found 22-year-old Braekwon Bennett suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Police later learned that an 18-year-old man and 17-year-old boy had arrived at the apartment where Bennett was and confronted him. During a fight, multiple shots were fired, and the 18-year-old was also shot, police said. Both suspects left the apartment but later arrived at an area hospital,

The 18-year-old was admitted to the hospital. The 17-year-old attempted to run from police but was taken into custody and booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility. The 18-year-old will be booked upon his release from the hospital, police said.

The victim and suspects knew each other, police said, and the investigation is ongoing.
