Man shot in face expected to survive
Wichita police on Monday gave new details about a shooting that wounded a 33-year-old man in his face.
The victim is expected to survive, and the suspect has been arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, Lt. Randy Reynolds said.
Records identify the man booked into jail in the shooting as Robert W. Parker, who is being held on a $75,000 bond.
Reynolds gave this account: The shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday, when the 33-year-old man was arguing with his girlfriend over marijuana at their residence in the 4000 block of East Cessna, near Pawnee and George Washington Boulevard.
During the argument, the 26-year-old brother of the girlfriend allegedly shot the 33-year-old man in his right cheek with a handgun, Reynolds said. The suspect fled and was spotted by a police helicopter and arrested about an hour after the shooting in the 2600 block of South Holyoke.
