Police: Buyer robbed after meeting two men through Craigslist
A man wanting to buy some electronics from a Craigslist contact wound up having his electronics stolen Saturday night in east Wichita, police said Sunday.
The man made contact with two other men through Craigslist – a classified advertisement website – and they agreed to meet at a restaurant about 7:30 p.m. in the 11000 block of East Kellogg, Wichita police Sgt. John Ryan said.
When he arrived, the other two men threatened him with a knife before taking $200 and some electronics from him, Ryan said. Police are still looking for the two suspects, who ran off.
“This has happened before (with contacts made through Craigslist),” Ryan said. “Basically, they lure someone to a spot, and it turns out to be a setup.”
Ages of the victim and suspects weren’t available, Ryan said.
