Police investigating south Wichita drive-by shooting that injured one

Police are still investigating a drive-by shooting that injured one person early Sunday morning.

Three 18-year-old men were standing in front of a vacant house in the 1500 block of East Del Mar shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday when someone drove by in a black four-door sedan and fired several shots, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. That location is near Hydraulic and 31st Street South.

One of the bullets struck one of the trio in the upper leg, Schroeder said. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers arriving at the location of the incident found evidence of the shooting, Schroeder said. The victims did not provide a detailed description of the shooter.
