Man robs Burger King on East Pawnee on Saturday morning
A Burger King in southeast Wichita was robbed Saturday morning after a man forced employees to let him inside the restaurant.
The robbery happened about 3:45 a.m. Saturday at 1909 E. Pawnee, said Wichita police Sgt. Roger Runft. That’s near Pawnee and Southeast Boulevard.
Runft said two male employees, who are 23 and 24 years old, were taking trash out of the building when a man with a thin-build and wearing a hooded sweatshirt confronted them.
“He ordered them back to the business … and demanded the money from the proceeds of the day,” Runft said.
After taking “a small amount of money,” the man, whom the victims described as in his early 40s or late 50s, ran off.
Police were unable to locate the suspect, Runft said.
He said the man indicated to the victims that he had a gun, but “it’s uncertain what it exactly was.”
