Public memorial service set for Viola mother, 4 children killed in semitruck wreck
CORRECTION: The mother and children killed in the Sept. 25 crash lived in Viola. A previous version of this story misstated their town of residence.
A memorial service for a Viola mother and her four young children killed in a semitruck wreck is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday in Conway Springs.
A “Celebration of Life” service for Jessica Noel, Anaiah Brady, Jeffrey Thompson III, Mack Thompson and Hank Thompson will take place at the Conway Springs Park, at the corner of Spring Avenue and Eighth Street. The service is open to the public, according to a GoFundMe page raising money for the family’s funeral and medical expenses.
People who attend should bring their own lawn chairs and adhere to social distancing recommendations.
Noel, 32, and her four children died Sept. 25 after their SUV collided with a semitruck loaded with grain between Cheney and Clearwater. The family was out for a shopping trip when the semi driver, 31-year-old Andrew Specht, ran a stop sign at 71 Street South and 263rd Street West, according to law enforcement reports and the GoFundMe account.
The children range in age from 4 months to 10 years old.
