Police looking for armed intruder who sexually assaulted woman during home break-in
Police are asking for the public’s help finding a man who broke into a Wichita woman’s home Saturday and sexually assaulted her while two young children were there.
The woman told police the man was armed when he entered her home near Lincoln and Oliver around midnight, demanded money and attacked her, Wichita police spokesman Officer Paul Cruz said in a news release. The man, whom she did not know, left her home afterward.
Police officers went to the address in response to an emergency call about a burglary in progress. The woman sought treatment at a Wichita hospital following the assault, Cruz said.
The children were not harmed, he said.
Police are urging anyone with information that might help solve the case to call Wichita police detectives at 316-268-4407, Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 or the See Something Say Something hotline at 316-519-2282. Crime Stoppers tips can also be submitted through the P3 mobile app or online at www.wichitasedgwickcountycrimestoppers.com.
