Second suspect in Kansas double homicide arrested in Kentucky, police say

A man wanted in connection with a May 7 double homicide in Junction City was arrested this week in Kentucky, according to the Junction City Police Department.

Nathaniel Roderick Holmes was arrested in Radcliff, Kentucky, on a Geary County, Kansas, warrant for suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, Capt. Trish Giordano said in a news release. Holmes is in his early 20s, according to The Mercury.

Another suspect, 18-year-old Dontavian Wright, was arrested on June 3 in his hometown of Talladega, Alabama, also on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, Giordano said in a past news release.

Both arrests are in connection with the killings of 21-year-old Dillon Spencer and 19-year-old Aaron Villarreal, both of Junction City. Police found the two dead of apparent gunshot wounds after responding to a shooting call at 1:50 a.m. May 7 in northwest Junction City.

Holmes is in jail in Kentucky awaiting extradition to Kansas, Giordano said.
