Driver found but no arrest made in hit and run in north Wichita, police say

The driver of the van has been located but not arrested, Capt. Brent Allred said.
The case is still under investigation.

A 54-year-old woman remains hospitalized in stable condition after being hit by a van Monday night at 21st and Wellington, according to Wichita police.
After the woman was hit, “the driver then fled the scene,” Officer Charley Davidson said in a statement. “Officers later located the van unoccupied at 13th and Waco in the parking lot of (a) business.”
Police were called at around 8:30 p.m. and found the woman in the road in critical condition. Through the investigation, police discovered a white 1993 Chevrolet van was being driven east on 21st and hit the woman as she crossed 21st on Wellington from north to south, Davidson said.
