Wichita man who had 1/2 pound of meth, $14K cash in bag at home gets prison

A Wichita man convicted of trafficking methamphetamine will spend 8 years, 4 months in prison following sentencing by a federal judge Monday.

Myron L. Hite II, 43, pleaded guilty to one count of meth possession with the intent to distribute in December. Federal prosecutors filed charges after Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents found more than a half pound of the drug when they served a narcotics search warrant at Hite’s home on March 12, 2018, court records show. Authorities also found $14,117 in cash in a bag on a shelf by two loaded guns and other firearms during the search.

U.S. District Judge Eric Melgren handed down the 100-month federal prison sentence, according to court records.
