KBI investigating death of 61-year-old Medicine Lodge woman as homicide

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says the death of a 61-year-old woman in her Medicine Lodge home on Monday is thought to be a homicide.

Anyone with information about Joyce A. Foulkrod’s killing is encouraged to call the KBI at 1-800-KS-CRIME or submit tips online at www.kbi.ks.gov/sar.

A relative discovered Foulkrod’s body inside of her home at 3 Whitney Lane in Medicine Lodge shortly before 1:50 p.m. Monday and called 911, the KBI said in a news release. The Medicine Lodge Police Department immediately asked for the KBI’s assistance investigating the case. The Barber County Sheriff’s Office is also involved.

An autopsy that will determine Foulkrod’s cause and manner of death is scheduled for Tuesday. No other details about the death were released.
