Wichita man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder months after release from prison
A 30-year-old Wichita man was arrested Friday in connection with a man being shot in the face earlier in the week, records show.
Terrell Jovan Parker was arrested on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and on a state warrant. Parker is currently on parole, according to Kansas Department of Corrections records.
Police were called about the shooting at around 2:40 a.m. Wednesday in the 5100 block of East Harry, near Oliver. They found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken to a hospital with a “serious but non-life-threatening injury,” officer Charley Davidson said in a news release.
“The investigation revealed that the 32-year-old was in the area, and a disturbance ensued between him and a known male suspect,” Davidson said. “The suspect fired a gun during the disturbance, striking the 32-year-old. The suspect left the area in a vehicle.”
Parker was arrested Friday at his home in east Wichita.
Parker has 10 convictions from cases in Sedgwick County, including aggravated battery, aggravated escape, assault, aiding a felon and drug-related charges. He was released from prison in April, according to the KDOC.
He has more than 45 disciplinary reports from his time in prison.
