Man shot in the face in southeast Wichita, police say

A 32-year-old man was shot in the face Wednesday morning in southeast Wichita, the Wichita Police Department said.

Police were called at 2:40 a.m. about a shooting in the 5100 block of E. Harry, near Oliver. Upon arrival, they found victim, who was taken to an area hospital, where he remains in serious but non-life-threatening condition, officer Charley Davidson said in a news release.

Davidson said the victim was in the area of the shooting call when “a disturbance ensued between him and a known male suspect. The suspect fired a gun during the disturbance, striking the 32-year-old. The suspect left the area in a vehicle and has not been located.”
