Police are asking for the community’s help after a 29-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot with a firework mortar.
Police were called at around 2:10 a.m. Wednesday to an apartment complex about a person being burned. Police learned the man was hurt after a firework mortar landed in his vehicle in the 3000 block of North Arkansas.
The man had his window down when the mortar was shot into the vehicle, “landed on him, and exploded,” Officer Kevin Wheeler said in a news release.
The man saw “two unknown males in their teens or early twenties running across Arkansas to an unknown location.”
The man went to a nearby convenience store for help before the police arrived. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
