Two arrested after Wichita Chicken restaurant destroyed by fire

Two people have been arrested in connection with a fire that destroyed a north Wichita business, according to Sedgwick County Fire Capt. Kelly Zane.

Jail booking reports show 21-year-old Ali Taraq Hadi and 25-year-old Tareo Hadi Hadi were arrested on suspicion of arson Tuesday at their home in the 2500 block of East Conquest, near 27th North and Hillside. Firefighters were called at 2:33 a.m. on Tuesday to a blaze at Wichita Chicken Fried House in the 1300 block of North Hillside.

Zane said the estimated damage was $200,000 and the building was a complete loss. It also appears an ignitable liquid was used in the blaze.

“That won’t be confirmed ... until we get lab results back,” Zane said.
