Kansas man must repay Medicaid after $2,500 fraud in which he filed false claims

A 21-year-old Arkansas City man must repay slightly more than $2,500 he got from a Medicaid fraud scheme.

Tyresse Jasper Boyd Hardiman was ordered by a Cowley County District Court judge on Monday to repay the Kansas Medicaid Program and was sentenced to two years of probation with an underlying prison sentence of 14 months. The sentence was announced by Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt on Tuesday in a news release.

Hardiman previously pleaded guilty to one felony count of making a false claim to Medicaid. Schmidt said that investigators determined Hardiman submitted false Medicaid claims between January and October 2018 where he claimed to have provided in-home care to a Medicaid beneficiary.
