Police seek four after woman is shot in head in Planeview

Police are looking for four suspects in connection with a shooting incident in Planeview early Wednesday morning that left a woman with a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers were called to a local hospital at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, where they talked to a 22-year-old woman who said she was riding with three friends when they stopped at Pawnee and Hillside, Lt. James Espinoza said. Four men in another vehicle contacted them and said they wanted to talk, but the women declined the offer and drove away.

The men followed them to Planeview, where several shots were fired at the women in their vehicle, Espinoza said. One shot hit the 22-year-old woman in the back of the head.

She was driven by friends to a hospital and admitted in serious condition, Espinoza said. She is expected to survive her injury.

Espinoza called the shooting “disturbing,” adding that the woman was fortunate she was not more critically injured.

The women were unable to provide a description of the four men other than that they were in a silver Chrysler 300.
